I wanted to create a very simple drawing from quickly pulling the points of a circle into a rough shape. This little character is based on the California Quail often seen around parts of NZ.

These images were taken from replicating parts of logos, turning the elements and then tiling. Very simple to do and very effective for creating textured patterns. A fun exercise I like to do sometimes is taking an existing company logo and, using parts from it, reconstruct into a new pattern or image. Here I've taken a hand and leaf from the company I work with and built a vision of the land of the long white cloud.
I'm a big fan of those Beswick flying mallards that typically adorn dining rooms of pensioners. Wanting to challenge this preconception I wanted to flip it on its head and make the pensioners the ones on the wall of a mallard's home. This led to a range I call Switch World.
